VASA Toy Soldiers Set Vasa (or Wasa) is a Swedish Warship built 1626 - 1628
King Gustav Adolf II, Captain Hans Jonsson, Musketeer, Gunner, Gunners Mate, Seaman and Vasa Gun

For three years, carpenters, pit-sawyers, smiths, rope makers, glaziers, sail makers, painters, woodcarvers and other specialists had worked on building the Navy´s new warship- the Vasa. She was a “royal ship” the seventeenth-century designation for the largest type of naval vessel. Vasa was designed to be the foremost of Sweden`s war-ships, with a hull constructed from one thousand oaks’, 64 large guns, mast more than fifty meters high and many hundred gilded and painted sculptures. But fate decreed otherwise; the ship foundered shortly after embarking on her maiden voyage in August 10th 1628.
