D-Day 44 British & US Troops - King and Country

"OK let's go!" With three simple words, General Dwight Eisenhower launched the greatest amphibious assault in history - the invasion of Western Europe.
The Operation, code named "OVERLORD", would be better known as "D.DAY". On the morning of June 6, 1944, the Allied Expeditionary Force began landing on the Normandy beaches of Hitler's Fortress Europe.
Earlier that same day British and American troops dropped all over the Norman countryside behind German lines, creating panic, capturing vital roads and bridges and preparing to link up with sea-borne comrades.
